Solar for Diesel – The sun shines on Fort Chipewyan.
Fort Chipewyan is swapping diesel for solar. The small community of 1,000 indigenous people sits along the shores of Lake Athabasca in northern Alberta. ATCO is installing 600 kilowatts of solar in phase one and the community will own phase II, 2,200 kilowatts more solar when it's all done.
